Great jump Troy. On
Saturday at our 4th annual Carpark Slider
Challenge Troy Roker jumped a motor cross style gap
on his wakeboard over concrete 13.5 meters (44.26
feet) long and was around 5.5 meters (18 feet) high
in the air. To pull off the jump he rode over a
specifically designed up-ramp and down-ramp built by
Liquid Malisha. To get the speed he needed, he used
an Urban Rider Winch with a 9hp engine. Troy
practised for 4 days before the event slowly moving
back the up-ramp as he felt confident.
Troy said "I was pretty nervous before the first
jump, there were a lot of people who had come out to
watch and I wanted to go as far as possible for
them". "After I got my first jump out of the way I
was feeling heaps better and was able to go 13.5
meters on my third jump".
“Before his jump there was a wakeboard rail comp,
held out the front carpark of the shop. Matty De
Nittis took out the honours followed by Ryan Leary
and James Tyrell. Also a huge thanks needs to go to
Trojan Wake Ski Snow for putting on the event and
promoting our sport in such a big way. “It was great
to see so many people come to see our event this
year and we are now looking towards next years event
which will be held on the Saturday night before the
Sydney Bridge to Bridge Water ski Classic next
November.
Many
thanks must go to all our sponsors who without this
event would not have been possible.
